WIN's Opinion

The Internet is a communication vehicle not only for advertising and spreading news and knowledge but also for airing viewpoints on issues of wider interest, for expressing gratitude and concern.

Yes, we at WebITNamibia do have our own opinions on various issues and voice them because we do care - and you should too!

After all, we all are real people living in a real world and dealing with real issues every day. If Namibia is your home, we do have that in common as well even though we may not see everything in our shared environment from the same point of view.
Our main aim is to create awareness and to encourage the free expression of thoughts and perspectives on issues of interest to the Namibian public at large.

While we provided you, dear readers, with opportunities for communicating your views through our WIN Publications, - which is not our place to get involved -, we will use this WIN's Opinion section to raise a few issues we came across that are or should be everyone's business in Namibia.

Since we have no right to claim that you share our viewpoints, we will present them in a rather personal way, based on our own experiences and impressions, on facts we came across and on conclusions we drew from our own - probably incomplete - mental picture of what is going on around us.

We do not want and see no reason to only criticise. There is plenty in Namibia to be grateful for, that deserves recognition if not praise, and there is just as much that we all should simply only stay aware of while moving ahead into the future. The first issue raised is not of any greater or lesser importance than any other to follow. It incidentally happened to be one that came to the forefront at the time that this section was added to our website.

Our web page visitors and users are welcome to respond in writing with additional information or own comments to the issues we tackled. Since we would however prefer to see face-to-face discussions on these issues taking place amongst the Namibian population, instead of in the confines of this website, we decided not to publish responses in full length but summarised only and therefore also anonymous. The main purpose here is to identify issues that appear to be of great importance to many people and the most widely shared viewpoints on these.

Please email your response to web-it@iway.na - and please remember to include your full name and contact details (see also note in the left column).
